ALL SECOND GRADERS SHOULD GET MAIL FROM MRS. WALTERS TODAY, THURSDAY, OCTOBER 25TH-PLEASE CHECK YOUR CHILD'S THURSDAY FOLDER!
CMS screens all second grade students to determine which students will participate in the Talent Development (TD) program, the program for gifted students.
On September 5th, 6th, and 7th, second grade students will be given the Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT).
The CogAT includes verbal, nonverbal, and quantitative reasoning questions.
There is no way to study for the CogAT.
Plenty of sleep and a good breakfast are helpful since alert students perform better.
Practice questions may be completed in school to help students feel relaxed and prepared.
Practice questions and teacher guides cannot be posted due to copyright issues.
Below is a valuable link to aid in interpretation of the test score.
You will need to enter your child's score profile (found in the last column of your score report), and receive some information tailored to your child's specific learning needs. Your child may find this information helpful and interesting as well, to better understand themselves as a learner.
